In the wet summer air, with the highway, and the lights from the waterslide (Water Wizz!!!!) next door, it was kind of beautiful. As her brother pulled away, Little Diogenes felt a glamourous rage take over. She was going to be in trouble with Mom, at least, and would be trapped indoors for the rest of the summer.

The bikers stood astounded next to their machines, silent leather envelopes. Crystal threw a look over her shoulder at them. The one in yellow pulled his helmet off. He was soft and handsome, as bald as a baby.

"Hey, hey girl."

Crystal stopped in her tracks and spun.

"Hey? Oh, my, God. Little Diogenes?"

Crystal was good at fooling boys. She wanted Little Diogenes' help.

"Yeah, Crystal?"

"Was that guy talking to me?"

"Which one?"

The rest of the gang just hunched inside their leather.

"Oh my God, that salty one over there?"
